Many Americans set financial goals, but why is it so difficult to achieve them sometimes? Billy J. Hensley, Ph.D., was appointed president and chief executive officer of the National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) in 2018. Before his time at NEFE, Hensley served as assistant director for the Ohio College Access Network, and program associate at KnowledgeWorks Foundation in Cincinnati; assistant director of admissions at Hiram College (OH); and as campaign coordinator at Union College (KY). He helped build the number of college access programs in Ohio by designing sustainability plans for communities all across the state. NEFE is grounded in the belief that regardless of background or income level, financially informed individuals are better able to take control of their circumstances, improve their quality of life, and ensure a more stable future for themselves and their families, NEFE’s mission is to inspire educated financial decision making for individuals and families through every stage of life.
